The time of high water and the length of flood are given approximately, both being affected by the strength and direction of the wind, and the amount of land water in the river. To find when it will be high water at any place, add the difference to the time of h.w at London Bridge. Deducting the length of flood from high water so found, will give the time the tide begins to flow at the place.
